Dragon Boat Festival
What could be more spectacular than a fleet of dragon boats racing to the finish line, a drummer in each boat pounding out the beat for the paddlers? The Dragon Boat Festival, China's oldest festival, officially falls on June 16th in 2010. Learn more about this exciting event and try a recipe for Zongzi dumplings, the official festival food. 2010 Chinese Holiday Calendar

Easy Okra Stir-fry
Did you know that June is National Soul Food month in the United States? In this fun fusion recipe okra is splashed with balsamic vinegar during stir-frying. Curry powder adds the final touch. Okra is commonly suggested as a substitute for Chinese silk squash (also called Angled Luffa)

Lobster Cantonese
Lobster tails are used in this version of the popular Cantonese dish, which pairs the lobster with ground pork and an aromatic mixture of Chinese black beans and garlic. The final touch comes at the end, when beaten egg is slowly streamed in. Yvette gives this recipe for Lobster Cantonese 5 out of 5 stars and says, "It was outstanding." Shrimp With Lobster Sauce

Ginger Sauce
I've recommended this as a dipping sauce for shrimp appetizers, or to brush on shrimp just before grilling. However, a reader notes it also makes a nice marinade for beef or chicken!
