From Donna Pilato, your Guide to Entertaining
I just love this time of the year. Although I do as much, if not more, chauffeuring for my kids as I do during the school year, the smell of heat and sunscreen still fools me into feeling more relaxed. Plus, you can't beat barbecues, fireworks and picnics. Have an Entertaining week!

The Classic July 4th Barbecue
Independence, stars and stripes, fireworks, and blueberry pie - that's what July 4th is all about. It's a day full of tradition that falls in the middle of the lazy days of summer. As hot as the weather may be, there's no need to sweat the menu. Go with America's traditional barbecue favorites, and everyone will be happy.

Host a Wimbledon Brunch
The record breaking Wimbledon match gave me tennis elbow just hearing how long Isner and Mahut had to battle it out. I'd much rather play a friendly hour of tennis and then, after my appetite has been warmed up, return home to a Wimbledon Brunch and then watch the pros as they play the game at Wimbledon.

A Party Favor for All Ages
A week ago today I was working at my daughter's year-end bash, and I was in charge of creating the party favors. I didn't know that was going to be my job until I showed up to help, but after creating these party favors all evening, I can say from personal experience that everyone loved this idea. These party favors would be just as popular at an adult party as they were with the kids at last week's bash.

An Impromptu Summer Party
Today was my daughters' last day of school and they begin camp on Monday. But our recent heatwave makes me feel like I do in the middle of summer. Lazy. Not wanting to do much cooking, and with a frozen cocktail in one hand as I put together the simplest menu. That reminded me of this Impromptu Summer Party menu that can be whipped up fairly easily so you can share a frozen drink with like-minded friends.
