From Linda Garrison, your Guide to Cruises
When the long June summer days arrive, I always think about my time in Russia for the White Nights of St. Petersburg. Three summers ago, I sailed the Russian Waterways between St. Petersburg and Moscow with Grand Circle Travel, and learned much about the Russian people and their culture. Join me on a look back at this terrific itinerary and cruise tour.

Grand Circle Russian Waterways M/S Rossia CruiseTour
Grand Circle Small Ship Cruises' M/S Rossia river ship sails a 16-day Russian Waterways cruise between St. Petersburg and Moscow, Russia. This article focuses on a tour of the cabins, deck areas, interior common areas, and dining facilities on the Grand Circle M/S Rossia.

Russian Waterways Itinerary
Russian river ships sail through many quaint towns and villages on their way between St. Petersburg and Moscow. Many of these are relatively unknown to North Americans and other Europeans. This map shows the itinerary and provides links to photos and information of the ports along the way.

Three Days in Moscow
Moscow is a wonderful city to visit, and travelers on river ship cruise tours to St. Petersburg spend a few days in Moscow like I did with Grand Circle Small Ship Cruises. Moscow was our last port on the cruise tour, and we had about three days to see most of the highlights. We disembarked the ship and stayed in a hotel as part of our cruise tour, which was a good plan since river ships must dock about an hour from downtown.

Three Days in St. Petersburg
St. Petersburg is a popular port of call for both cruise ships sailing to Scandinavia and northern Europe, and for river cruises between St. Petersburg and Moscow. Either way provides good opportunities to see this fascinating city.
