If you live in the Northern hemisphere, and have the space, you are likely cooking outdoors as often as you can now.

La Grigliata Mista
A Grigliata Mista is just what it sounds like, mixed grilled meats. Italians prefer to cook over hardwood coals, and depending upon what, exactly, you decide to cook, you may want to have a hotter area for searing (steak, for example), and an area with fewer coals that allows slower cooking, say of chicken.

A grigliata mista might include:

Pesce alla Griglia
Live near the coast or a waterway, and have access to good fresh fish? Then why not grill fish rather than meat? Good fish over the coals can be extraordinary, and you can also grill other things, for example prawns or scampi, and squid.

A grigliata mista di pesce might include:

D'Accompagnamento...
D'accompagnamento means accompanying, in other words side dishes. picnics and cookouts are prefect moments for cool refreshing dishes, ranging from pasta salads through mixed boiled vegetables, which can be something to get (quite) excited about.

To Drink?
What you drink with your cookout is just as important as what you cook. I confess I'm not partial to soft drinks, preferring rather to stick to water and fermented drinks, i.e. wine or beer. Some suggestions:
