From Jolinda Hackett, your Guide to Vegetarian Food
It's summer, so I've decided we all deserve some light grocery-aisle style reading in this week's newsletter. Nothing too heavy! I'll be back to providing great vegetarian recipes as usual next week. Don't forget to say hi on Twitter!

MJ's friend says the King of Pop was vegetarian
Seriously? A friend of his, Rabbi Shmuley (who is quite busy promoting his book detailing private conversations he had with Michael!) has written a new blog post claiming that the King of Pop was yes, vegetarian. I thought Michael Jackson always had a special fondness for KFC? Ah, but perhaps he was actually enjoying KFC's vegetarian chicken sandwiches the whole time? Read more.

Is the Old Spice Guy vegan?
If you're saying "Who?" right now, then you obviously don't spend enough time on the internet or watching TV. But if your estrogen peaks just at the words "Old Spice guy" then keep reading. Rumor has it he's vegan. Or at least on a vegan diet. Where does this rumor come from? Well, Twitter, of course! Read more.

Rachel Ray's vegetarian sloppy joes
Vegetarians everywhere are talking about Rachel Ray's mushroom based sloppy joes which she showed on her TV program earlier this week. I've always made sloppy joes using tofu or TVP as a meat substitute, but mushrooms, of course would work great! In true Rachel Ray style, the recipe calls for "EVOO" and "1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar - eyeball it". Read more.

And one more unlikely veg celebrity...
Ozzy Osbourne? Really? Yup! Check out the forum discussion about it. What's that? You haven't been by the vegetarian forums lately? Here's a bit more of what you've been missing out on:
  • Is the world running out of fish?
  • Why vegetarians are smarter than meateaters (Though I can't say the discussion in this thread is helping to prove it!)
  • A potential vegetarian weighs the benefits
