This week's newsletter is devoted to the little tips and tricks that make using OS X easier. They range from basic, such as restoring a Safari tab you accidentally closed, to intermediate, such as creating a 'Recent Applications' stack for use in the Dock.

The great thing about OS X tips and tricks is that there are always more to be discovered. And one of the best places to get new tips is from other OS X users. That's why I've created a Tips & Tricks submission form for you to add your own nifty tricks to our growing collection.


Add Your Own Keyboard Shortcuts
Keyboard shortcuts are handy, letting you quickly access commands or features of an application directly from your keyboard, without having to mouse around the application's menus. But some menu items in your favorite applications may not have keyboard shortcuts associated with them, which means you have to stop typing, grab the mouse, and fiddle with the menus. Capturing Screenshots of Individual Elements
The Mac has long had the ability to capture screenshots with a press of the command + shift + 3 keys. The other commonly used keyboard combination for screenshots is command + shift + 4.
