From Kyle Phillips, your Guide to Italian Food
I am in Puglia for Radici, the annual presentation of southern wines, which has grown considerably -- A few years ago it was limited to wines form Puglia and the Vulture (in Basilicata; it's where Aglianico del vulture, one of the great Italian reds, is meds).

Now Radici has expanded to include Campania and Calabria, and there is also a winemaker from Sicily.

For the past couple of days winemakers have presented their wines, and to be honest I've lost count of how many I've tasted, though the average quality was fairly high and some were frankly impressive.

Tomorrow the serious work begins, tasting sessions with flights blind (the labels will be covered so we won't know what they are, though we will be told the Appellation) for a total of about 100 wines per day. It's interesting, and a very good way to gain an understanding of a wine type.
