Chinese New Year

From Rhonda Parkinson, your Guide to Chinese Food
This week's recipes include two potsticker dumpling recipes (Vegetarian and Potstickers with Prawn and Cilantro), Mandarin Pancakes, and West Lake Beef Soup.

Weekend Cooking - Coconut Buns
Coconut buns are one of the easier Chinese treats to make - the sweet coconut filling is combined with a basic dough recipe and the buns are baked. As a final touch, the still warm buns are brushed with a honey/water mixture. The recipe includes a nutritional breakdown.

Hot Bananas in Coconut Milk
Coconut milk lends a sweet flavor to bananas in this quick and easy recipe. It makes a light dessert for two, or can easily be doubled to serve four people.

Pasta a la Bak Chor Mee
Pasta pairs nicely with bok choy and shiitake mushrooms in this flavorful stir-fry seasoned with Chinese rice vinegar, dark soy sauce and chili pepper flakes. Balsamic vinegar can be used as a substitute for the black rice vinegar.

Vegetarian Potstickers
Here's a vegetarian version of these delicious dumplings, complete with dipping sauce, reader-rated at 5 out of 5 stars.
