| | How did this happen? It seems like only days ago that seasonal parks opened their gates. Now, there's a new crop of apples hitting the shelves, some unfortunate kids are (gasp!) back in school, and a few of the seasonal parks (in places where those unfortunate kids are back in school) have reverted to a weekends-only schedule. Another sure sign that the seasons, they are a-changin': parks have begun releasing info about their Halloween events. Also this week, let's take a look at Disney's new Hawaiian getaway, check out the latest California and Florida theme park deals, and rant about lazy financial reporters who dare to besmirch our beloved thrill machines. | | It's Beginning to Feel a Lot Like...Halloween? Universal Studios Hollywood revealed that its backlot tram tour will be transformed into Terror Tram: Scream 4 Your Life with inspiration from Wes Craven's Scream films. I don't have all of the details (because the parks haven't divulged everything yet), but I do have almost everything you'd want to know about all of the Halloween events at California theme parks in my annual Scardey-Parks Guide. | Cheap Rates, Free Eats, and Special Fastpasses The economy may be tanking -- again -- but there are some benefits to be found amid all the misery. Parks, for example, are likely to continue offering enticing discounts to keep wary consumers shuffling through their turnstiles. Case in point: Disneyland has what appears to be an unusually sweet deal. Buy a package that includes park tickets and four nights at an on-property hotel, and Disney will knock up to $450 off the regular price, throw in a complimentary character meal, and toss in some super-duper Fastpass tickets that will grant holders immediate access to some of the park's most popular attractions. Sounds pretty great, although you'd still have to cough up some dough -- which may be no small feat if your portfolio looks anything like my sorry excuse for a nest egg. You can read more about the Disneyland deal and other offers in my updated California Theme Park Discounts and Deals page. Thinking about heading to Florida? You'll want to look into my updated Florida Theme Park Discounts and Deals page. | Down with Lazy Financial Reporters "Market Roller Coaster About to End?" "Wall Street Rollercoaster Leads to Uncertainty" "Futures Up after Rollercoaster Week" ENOUGH ALREADY! Read why I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it any more. | Aloha Mickey Disney's Aulani is set to open on the Hawaiian island of O'ahu later this month. | | | | Theme Parks Ads | | | | Featured Articles | | | | | | Sign up for more free newsletters on your favorite topics | | | | You are receiving this newsletter because you subscribed to the About Theme Parks newsletter.
