From Setsuko Yoshizuka, your Guide to Japanese Food
Hi everyone! How do you usually cook clams? Asari (manila clams) are popularly eaten in Japan and added in various dishes, especially during the spring.

Japanese Recipe of the Week: Asari Rice Bowl
In this recipe, asari are cooked in miso flavored soup and are served on steamed rice. This rice bowl is called Fukagawa-meshi or Fukagawa-don.

Asparagus Bacon Rolls
Asparagus come into season. Do you have a favorite asparagus recipe? As a quick way to eat fresh asparagus at home, I simply dip blanched asparagus in mixture of soy sauce and mayonnaise. Also, these asparagus bacon rolls are popular in Japan.

Japanese-style Tuna Steak
When I have some leftover sashimi slices, I make these tuna steaks and serve them for the next day. It's also a good dish to make if you don't want to eat raw fish. I think these teriyaki-style and ginger flavored tuna steaks make great additions to your Japanese-style meal.
