From Linda Garrison, your Guide to Cruises
The Gulf of California separates Mexico's Baja Peninsula from the mainland and is also called the Sea of Cortez. This narrow body of water and surrounding area is teeming with wildlife and has beautiful scenery, making it an excellent cruise destination.

Cruising the Gulf of California on the Safari Quest
The Safari Quest is a 22-passenger motor yacht sailing the Gulf of California in the winter months. On the itinerary we sailed, passengers enjoyed a wide range of activities that included hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, water skiing, fishing, and trail riding. We had several memorable interactions with wildlife unlike any I've experienced elsewhere.

A Day at Cabo San Lucas from the Regatta
Cabo San Lucas is found at the very tip of the Baja Peninsula, almost 1000 miles from Tijuana. This Mexican town has long been a vacation destination. I visited Cabo earlier this year from the Oceania Regatta, and can now understand its popularity.

Copper Canyon, Mexico
Copper Canyon is on many traveler's "bucket list", and the area is certainly spectacular. One easy way to see Copper Canyon is via a cruise ship shore excursion on the El Chepe Train from Topolobampo on the Gulf of California.

Loreto, Mexico on the Gulf of California
Loreto is north of Cabo San Lucas and La Paz on the Baja Peninsula and Gulf of California. The town is rapidly growing and being developed, but still has charming historical sites.
