From Robert Silva, your Guide to Home Theater
Welcome to my Weekly Home Theater Newsletter! This week I have a lot of great product news, starting off with my review of an inexpensive soundbar system from Boston Acoustics, as well as a peek at Yamaha's new 3D-ready home theater receivers, McIntosh Lab's $8,000 Blu-ray Disc player, and a new DLP TV product line from Mitsubishi. On a sad note, a high-end speaker brand and a maker of media servers and controllers are leaving the home theater market.

Boston Acoustics TVee Model 20 Soundbar/Wireless Sub System
The Boston Acoustics TVee Model 20 is a self-contained, easy-to-use system that is designed to complement a flat panel TV for an intimate, satisfying, listening experience for those that don't want to spend the money or hassle with the clutter of a multi-speaker home theater system. The TVee Model 20 combines a 2 channel speaker/amplifier with a wireless subwoofer. The sub receives audio signals without an unsightly audio cable. For more details on whether the TVee Model 20 is right for you, check out both my Review as well as my up-close Photo Gallery. Photos (c) Robert Silva - Licensed to About.com

However, unlike the Lexicon and similar cases where a high-end manufacturer has "rebadged" a less expensive existing player, the MVP881 BR appears to be engineered from the ground up...Read more

Mitsubishi Announces New 3D-TV Line-up
While most TV manufacturers are releasing their first crop of 3D-enabled TVs this year, Mitsubishi has been offering 3D-enabled DLP rear projection televisions for a few years already. However, with the new 3D Blu-ray and TV broadcast standards now in place, Mitsubishi is ready to go with a new generation of large screen 3D DLP sets that are not only compatible with the new 3D standards, but are much more affordable, per-inch, than any 3D Plasma or LCD TV...Read more
