It's not that I don't enjoy layer cakes, I do, but I find making a sheet cake much more practical. Most of the cakes I make go places where I'd be serving a lot of people, and more often than not, those people would be cutting their own pieces. Unless, I personally do the cutting, a layer cake could end-up a mess before half of its eaten. Please enjoy these recipes for sheet cakes. | |
Frosted Sheet Cake
Basically, this is taking most any cake recipe and baking it in a 9x13 pan. Once it's completely cooled, the top is frosted while it's still in the pan.

| Betty's Lemon Sheet Cake
Once I tried Betty's cake, I just had to have the recipe. Amazingly, it's only made with 3 ingredients, plus the frosting.
