From Donna Pilato, your Guide to Entertaining
I hope you're staying comfortable through these serial heat waves. To help deal with the sweltering temperatures, this week's newsletter is all about making parties easier to help us keep our cool while we entertain. Have an Entertaining week!

An Easy Summer Dinner Party
We've arrived at the lazy point of the summer season. It's hot, too hot to think about doing much work in the kitchen. I don't want to pull a million ingredients from my cabinets to fix a tasty dinner for myself and friends, and yet I still like to eat well. Dilemma? Not really. Thanks to our ingenious Food Guides here at About.com, I was able to put together a summer dinner party menu that focuses on the flavors of the season, while requiring very little effort.

Do You Have Enough Serving Trays?
When I entertain outside during the summer, one of the most important items among my entertaining accessories are large serving trays with handles. You don't really think about how important they are until you need to bring everything outside for your party such as drinks, food, plates, utensils, ice - especially ice this weekend! If you don't have enough serving trays, you might want to consider picking up a few of these Top Picks for Serving Trays with Handles.

Jazz Up Your Ice
I think most of the United States is sweltering from the heat this week. The only thing I can think of is ice and more ice, and I usually like my drinks without ice. But half the time I find myself simply holding the icy drink as a way to cool down. Well, if we're going to be walking around like portable ice dispensers, we may as well add pizzazz to our ice so we look good while holding them.

Host a New England Clambake
It's really no mystery that going to the beach develops an appetite for seafood. Which is why I found myself, on our trip back from the beach this weekend, developing a craving for a New England Clambake. The great thing is that this party can be cooked on your stovetop. But if you're lucky enough to live close to a beach that allows you to cook one right there, in the sand, even better. This article will tell you how to Host a New England Clambake in either locale.
