 | On Tuesday, Apple unveiled the iPhone 4S, which left many individuals wondering what happened to the iPhone 5. My guess is we won't see the iPhone 5 until next year. In the meantime, the iPhone 4S is an all-new design, at least on the inside, which is really what counts. Around the home and office this week, we've started getting ready for Halloween, one of our favorite times of the year. This year, we're dressing our Macs up for Halloween, with scary wallpaper, sinister screen savers, frightful fonts, silly sounds, and other trappings of the autumn holiday. | AirDrop Isn't Limited to a Wireless Network
One of the newer features in OS X Lion is AirDrop, a handy method of sharing data with any Mac equipped with OS X Lion and a wireless connection that supports PAN (Personal Area Networking). PAN is a somewhat recent standard that has been added to the Wi-Fi alphabet soup of capabilities. The idea of PAN is that two or more devices that come within range of each other can communicate using a peer-to-peer connection method. According to Apple, AirDrop requires a PAN-enabled wireless connection. But with a little tweaking, you can get AirDrop working on any network connection you may have, including wired Ethernet and non-PAN-enabled wireless connections... Read more
