The World of Steampunk

Steampunk JewelryIf you've visited artisan fairs in the last several years you've probably seen Steampunk jewelry. It's fashioned after a movement that jewelry designer and author Jema Hewitt (aka Emilly Ladybird) calls "Victorian styled science fiction." Jema was kind enough to answer some of our questions about Steampunk. I think her responses will help you understand the movement, and recognize the unique jewelry that designers are creating from all sorts of mechanical bits and pieces.

How to Recognize Art Deco Jewelry
Art Deco was a popular movement that was born at the World's Fair in Paris, in 1925. The style faded for several decades, but has been growing in popularity since the 1980s.
