As for fun for families: the centerpiece of the Aulani is the 7-acre Waikolohe Valley that has a lazy river, two waterslides (one dark!) that start at the top of a volcano, a large zero-entry pool, a snorkelling pool, a water-play structure... Meanwhile the beach is gentle and perfect for kids. Another big feature is Aunty's Beach House kids club, which has multiple themed rooms and which is complimentary (--a major perk. Similar hotels might charge $100 a day.)
