From Kyle Phillips, your Guide to Italian Food
Did something a little different today -- Drove to Capezzana in the hills above the city of Prato to celebrate Count Ugo Contini Bonacossi's 90th birthday. It was a magnificent day and a delightful occasion, during which they also presented their latest wine, which is called Sessanta (Sixty): A Merlot made in 2007 to celebrate Ugo and Lisa's diamond wedding anniversary, and it was very nice. If you enjoy fine wines keep an eye out for it, though it will likely be hard to find -- they only made 5000 bottles, and it's a one-time thing. But should you see one, grab it.

I Bonomini di San Martino
Conte Ugo has lived a long, and very full life, and rather than gifts asked those who wanted to do something to contribute to the Bonomini di San Martino, an organization established in the 1400s by Sant'Antonio Pierozzi to help "poveri vergognosi," formerly well-to-do citizens reduced to poverty by circumstances beyond their control who were ashamed to beg. The Bonomini are still active today, helping those in need.
