From Donna Pilato, your Guide to Entertaining
The lazy summer mood is over and now we're into the quicker pace of the fall season. It's time to prepare for Halloween and other fall parties with apples serving as the star of the show. Have an Entertaining week!

Time to Check Supplies for Fall and Halloween
Fall officially arrives later this week, but it's been chilly enough at night to make me believe the seasons have changed a little early. The next thing on my seasonal to-do list is to dust off and inventory our decorations and party supplies for the fall and Halloween seasons. Once I have a good sense of what stays and what needs to go, I'll be ready to restock both our Fall Entertaining Accessories and Halloween Party Supplies from my favorites on these updated lists.

Tips for Fun Teen Parties
I almost have two teenagers. That's a sobering thought, don't you think? And while parents start out believing there could be nothing trickier than keeping a bunch of four-year-olds entertained at a party, time proves that teenagers can be much trickier. Thankfully there are strategies we can follow to turn a potentially drama-filled party into a fun event that everyone will talk about on Monday morning.

Plan an Apple Theme Dinner Party
I've been buying fresh apples at every opportunity I get. And they've been so good, crisp, and fragrant. At this time of the year they're good enough to host a dinner party in their honor.

Funeral and Mourning Traditions
Last night my husband and I made a funeral home visitation for one of his business acquaintances. We don't know this family that well, so we were surprised when we saw that the close family all wore white, as we showed up in the customary dark colors. This led to my wondering how many other funeral or mourning traditions we might not know about and wish we had so we could show the family proper respect. So I'm inviting readers to share with us any funeral or mourning traditions which the general public may not know much about.
