Birthdays

From Donna Pilato, your Guide to Entertaining
The beginning of March brings with it both the glimmers of springtime and the start of the Catholic season of Lent next week. Before then, there will be a lot of partying going on in New Orleans and other places around the world. So celebrate Mardi Gras in your own home and "let the good times roll". Have an Entertaining week!

Plan a Mardi Gras Party
The holidays have become a distant memory, we've returned to serious work, and the weather is gloomy. So, is it time to bury ourselves in a cave until the first crocus finally appears? Nah, not when the world's largest party is just waiting for us to join in the fun. Host a Mardi Gras party and "let the good times roll!"

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
I love Dr. Seuss but unfortunately my kids are too old to appreciate him. But I'm not worried, Dr. Seuss is timeless and they'll appreciate him again once they have kids of their own. Still, you don't need to have kids to read and enjoy Dr. Seuss, so I'll probably pull out a few of his books to celebrate his birthday today. And if you have or teach young children, you can plan a Dr. Seuss party to celebrate this beloved author with them.

Are You Someone Who Doesn't Usually RSVP?
On this site I hear from so many frustrated readers who are looking for RSVPs that never arrive, but this time I'd like to hear from the other side. If you're someone who doesn't RSVP to a party invitation, why not? Is this because "maybe" is your "no?" Please take this poll and let us know what you're thinking - your secret will be safe with us!

Unique Family Traditions
Yesterday was March 1st, and I remembered that one of this site's readers shared a unique family tradition for that date that's supposed to help your hair grow better for the year. I don't know if it works, but apparently this tradition has been passed down through the generations of this family. Do you have any special "holiday" traditions that are unique to your family? If so, I invite you to share it with other readers in our Unique Holiday Traditions collection.
