Best of Europe

From James Martin, your Guide to Europe Travel
We're back from our sojourn to Sardinia, after a fantastic visit that included a morning with Pinuccio Sciola, a famous sculptor who makes stones sing, a day at Sartiglia, an ancient tournament involving horses, and a week filled with lots of great Sardinian food, including a memorable Sea Urchin and wild asparagus pizza. I can't imagine why Americans shun Sardinia. Is there not enough information written about it?

Best Small Cities in Europe
Cities of under a quarter million population offer some interesting properties. You can easily drive to and within them, and the historical centers are easily walkable. Here are some of my favorite small cities in Europe.

Baden Austria: On the Beethoven Trail
This spa town near Vienna has a close association with some of the world's most famous artists and architects. It offers the tourist the largest rose garden in Austria and a huge spa complex fed by a Roman well. Check out our guide to Baden, Austria.

Differences in Culture between the US and Europe
First time travelers might need to know some things that are done differently in Europe. Here's a general list of things to be aware of when you land on European soil.

The Palace of Versailles
Versailles is a short trip out of Paris; if you want to see what the fuss is all about or how the nobility lived in days past, you can visit the palace as a day trip.
