From Arthur Levine, your Guide to Theme Parks
After a long, cold, snow-filled, and all-around miserable winter, I've been getting giddy as theme parks slowly open their gates for the 2011 season. While most seasonal water parks still have a few weeks to go before they open their faucets and crank up their wave-making machines, there are some that are ready to take the plunge.

Water You Waiting For?
For example, Splash Island, the water park that is included with admission to Wild Adventures in Georgia, will open this Sunday. It will feature two new family raft rides this season. While the weather is comfortable this time of year, Georgia's oppressive heat and humidity make the state's water parks popular summer destinations. Read more about Georgia water parks.

You'll Have to Wait a Bit Longer for this Park
Summer Waves, a medium-sized water park on lovely Jekyll Island in Georgia, won't open until early May. Read about the park.

(Almost) 'Tis the Season
With spring break in full bloom, more seasonal parks are opening their gates and revving up their coasters for the season. For example, Dollywood kicked off its 2011 season last weekend with a visit from its namesake icon, Dolly Parton.

Everything's Snapping into Place at Legoland Florida
You'll have to wait a lot longer for the new Legoland Florida, which is scheduled to premiere in October.
