From Donna Pilato, your Guide to Entertaining
Lalalalalala, I'm not listening to the back-to-school messages that are blasting in my direction. I don't care that soccer practices are beginning this week, or schools are sending my kids orientation schedules for the fall. It's only the beginning of August so I plan to stretch out summer fun for at least one more week before I face the inevitable. Have an Entertaining week!

A Refreshing Summertime Birthday Party
I love summertime parties, especially birthday parties since mine falls within the season. But I don't love the heat and humidity which have the nasty effect of making me a cranky party girl. That's why one of my top priorities for a summertime birthday party is that there are many refreshing beverage and food choices. Here's my ideal menu for a Refreshing Summertime Birthday Party.

An Impromptu Summer Dinner Party
Keep the summer fun going way past the late summer sunset. By stocking your pantry with a few ingredients designed for impromptu summer entertaining, the party can move from poolside or the beach back to your place.

Plan a Backyard Sleepover Party
If you are the parent of grade-schoolers, it would be a shame to let the balmy summer nights pass without introducing your kids to the wonders of the nighttime sky. Summer is the perfect time to plan an adventure that requires traveling no further than your own backyard.

Tea Parties Are Always In Season, Host One Yourself
It's easy to assume that with the heat of summer a tea party doesn't rank up there among other party options. But I'm always impressed by the amount of interest readers of this site show in learning How to Host a Tea Party.
