From Teresa Plowright, your Guide to Family Vacations
It's a big world out there: Dora the Explorer's been globetrotting to New York City, and now she wants to help families find her favorite attractions. Dora might also enjoy Cancun right now, 'cause it's the right time of year for an unforgettable experience, swimming with whale sharks...

Dora The Explorer - NYC Itinerary
"Hola! Soy Dora! Do you like exploring big cities? Me too!" And so begins Dora the Explorer's online invitation to family-friendly highlights in New York, such as a tiger exhibition at South Street Seaport, or the Children's Museum of Manhattan, and more...

Swim With Whale Sharks in Cancun
International Whale Shark Day is coming up on August 30th, and Cancun would be a great place to be, during the last weeks of the season for "swim with whale sharks" eco-tours. Visitors can day-trip from Cancun to nearby areas on the second largest barrier reef in the world, and swim with these gentle giants. Make plans for next year's Whale Shark Festival.

Top Things to do in LA
Disneyland, Universal Studios Hollywood, Knott's Berry Farm, the Queen Mary... Check out the most popular attractions in Los Angeles (and vote for your favorite ones.) You might also be interested in top free things to do in LA -- like the La Brea Tar Pits, for instance, "the greatest source of prehistoric fossils every excavated".

Things to do in Washington DC
Washington DC, of course, has terrific sightseeing, and a bonus for families is that the capital of the United States is a relatively affordable destination. In part that's because the terrific Smithsonian museums are free: National Museum of Natural History, National Air & Space Museum... National Zoo, too.
