From Jolinda Hackett, your Guide to Vegetarian Food
Vegetarian Superbowl snacks should be quick and easy to prepare so that you can spend time enjoying the game, or screaming at the TV, depending on who's winning. You also want to make sure that you don't run out of food, so prepare plenty of extras, and don't forget to shop for plenty of beer and extra ice for the cooler if you need to! Enjoy your vegetarian or vegan Super Bowl party!

Super Bowl Snacks
It's just not the Super Bowl with out plenty of munchies, and being vegetarian doesn't have to mean missing out on spicy buffalo wings and greasy chili cheese fries. You can find my vegetarian and vegan versions of these classic game day flavors here.

Keep it healthy
If you'd rather eat on the light side and pass up the wings, here's a few lighter snacks that are still absolutely munch-able:
  • Apple and soy nut butter pita pockets (pictured)
  • Toasted pita chips with edamame hummus
  • Stuffed mushrooms with walnut pate
  • Vegetarian mini meatballs

  • Bean dip
Bean dip is always a safe stand-by. Vegetarians and omnivores both like it, and it's good for men, women, kids and adults. A true crowd pleaser. Several of these bean dip recipes are vegan as well. Sure, you could just pop open a can of bean dip from the 7-11, but why not try making your own? Pictured: Apricot salsa bean dip

    Meatballs and mini-meatballs!
For a quick and easy Super Bowl snack idea, use store-bought meat substitutes to shape some quick and easy vegetarian meatballs. Here's a few recipes to try:
  • Vegetarian meatballs
  • Mini meatballs in red currant jelly sauce
  • Gardein mini-meatballs in tomato sauce (pictured)
