| | The 2010 season is over, so let's turn our attention to what parks have in store for 2011. This week, we take a look at the new stuff coming to the US park nexuses (nexi?) in California and Florida. | | Plenty Riding on 2011 at Florida Theme Parks It's hard to top The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which debuted in 2010, but there's still plenty of big news at Florida theme parks for 2011--including a brand new park, Legoland Florida. Also, a sleek, fast coaster will debut at Busch Gardens Tampa, and Walt Disney World has some unique ways to "Let the Memories Begin." Speaking of memories, remember Star Tours? A new version of the groundbreaking, Star Wars-themed motion simulator ride is set to blast off as well in 2011. Let's take a park-by-park look at what's new for Florida next season. | A Whole New World of California Park Goodies There's a whole new world of goodies awaiting California park fans in 2011. The expansion of Disney California Adventure continues with the opening of The Little Mermaid ride. And Disneyland visitors will be able to travel from under the sea to the far reaches of Tatoonie when the retooled Star Tours blasts off. Six Flags Magic Mountain climbs to the top of the roller coaster mountain by adding three (sorta) new thrill machines. Let's take a park-by-park look at these developments and more new fun in the California Ride Guide 2011. | Transformation Taking Longer than Anticipated One of the highlights of next year's park season was supposed to be Transformers, a Spider-Man-style dark ride that was originally announced with a 2011 opening at Universal Studios Hollywood. The park now says it will debut spring 2012. The ride looks wild. Read more about it in my Transformers preview. Be sure to take a look at the Transformers Ride Preview Mini Photo Gallery. Do the renderings show a 3-D attraction...without the goofy glasses? Will Universal Studios deliver the Holy Grail of park technology with Transformers? | This Week's Theme Park News | | | | Theme Parks Ads | | | | Featured Articles | | | | | | | | Sign up for more free newsletters on your favorite topics | | | | You are receiving this newsletter because you subscribed to the About Theme Parks newsletter.
