From Anitra Brown, your Guide to Spas
I love American spas, but it's hard to find something truly original. (Not another "ritual"!) But I've found a new love -- Korean spas. It's a way to delve into a completely different but authentic spa tradition, without flying overseas. And guess what! The Korean body scrub works a lot better than the American salt scrub.

Korean Spas In America
A few years back I went on a spa trip to Germany and was astounded by the elaborate "Sauna Worlds" at their spas. I wished that we had something like that in America -- people paddling around in baths, cozying up against jets, relaxing, going in and out of saunas and steam rooms all day, all for a small admission fee. And now we do, at least in a few places - and more are coming.

What Makes Korean Spas Different?
Korean spas are growing in popularity in America, especially in places that have substantial Korean populations such as New York, New Jersey and Los Angeles. But Korean spas are definitely not just for Koreans.

The Korean Body Scrub
I've never been a big fan of body scrubs at spas. But that was before I had a Korean body scrub. I was amazed at how much dead skin will came off!
