From Carly Wickell, Your Guide to Jewelry.
Those Mardi Gras beads draped around the necks of New Orleans Saints fans must have been part of the team's Super Bowl lucky charms.

Jewelry Around Super Bowl Week
The week leading up to the Super Bowl was packed with parties and other events, and the jewelry worn was truly a mixed bag. Former Playboy Playmate Holly Madison wore an oversize bib necklace when she co-hosted the annual Leather & Laces party. Carrie Underwood gave us a glimpse of her engagement ring. Hoop earrings were popular, and Rihanna's hoops probably won the size-prize. Even Spike Lee got into the jewelry act by wearing Mardi Gras beads to show his support for the New Orleans Saints.

Super Bowl Rings
In case you missed it, here's a look back at Super Bowl rings that shows how they've progressed over time from simply-designed jewelry to heavy bling-rings. I can't wait to see the design the Saints come up with for their ring.

Are Olympic Gold Medals Really Gold?
