Fun Places To Go

From Teresa Plowright, your Guide to Family Vacations
We've got suites and sweets below... But first, a revelation (at least to me): visiting a city during the Olympics isn't just for those who can spend big bucks for sports tickets. Vancouver BC has thrown a party with many venues for free entertainment and events; these venues show the sports events on big screens, too. I'll bet that London 2012 will likewise be hugely enjoyable - even if you don't buy any Olympic tix. (And provided you can find somewhere to stay, in expensive London-town.)

Vancouver Olympics - Free Entertainment
Vancouver BC's hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics and the city's hopping -- and not only with the actual sports events. Check out a walking tour of live entertainment venues, art on buildings, and other free fun for families (or anyone), in these photos from a sunny weekend at the "Spring Olympics".

Syrupy Sweet Getaways
A sweet idea for a March getaway: escape to the countryside, maybe snowshoe, maybe ski, maybe hike-- but definitely head for some sweets at a maple sugar house.

Embassy Suites - Thumbs Up
A recent trip to Utah (for some of that great Utah skiing) included an overnight in Salt Lake City at an Embassy Suites Hotel. This brand has some very nice features, indeed, for families.

Family Adventures
Many tour companies these days offer special adventure holidays for families: typically, small-groups enjoy outdoor activities in top spots such as Yellowstone, Alaska, or Hawaii; other trips focus on cultural interest. All details are handled and guests enjoy a hassle-free deluxe experience.
