Tips & Tricks

From Tom Nelson, your Guide to Macs
It was a long weekend here; there was lots of rain and we were stuck in the house. To keep from going stir crazy, I decided to install Lion Server on my Mac. I was planning to do the server install at some point anyway, and experiment with the various services available. I think Lion Server is going to be a hit with many home and home office users. It has plenty to offer and is a breeze to install.

My plan is to produce a guide for each of the various services as I try them out. In the meantime, if you want to get a head start, I've included the first guide to installing Lion Server.

Also, early this week, Apple released the first major update to OS X Lion, bumping it to 10.7.1. I highly recommend the update to every Lion user. And for those of you holding off on upgrading, this may be the right time to give it a try.

These guides will be geared toward home, home office, and small business users who want to use some of the great features of OS X Lion Server to complement their existing network.

The first in the series of guides is about installing OS X Lion Server. There will be more guides to come... Read more
