The humidity has mostly cleared out of Massachusetts (thank goodness), but summer's heat continues throughout most of the country. Let's continue our cool-down strategies by checking out a couple of water parks in Virginia. Also, let's look at some interesting park news emanating from Russia

Virginia is for (Water Park) Lovers
It's hot this time of year in Virginia, and that means Virginians and visitors to the state seek relief at water parks. One of Virginia's biggest water parks (and one of the largest in the nation) is Water Country USA. Run by the SeaWorld Parks folks who also operate Busch Gardens Williamsburg, the popular park welcomed Vanishing Point, a wacky collection of 75-foot tall speed slides that include trap-door launches (yikes!), this season. SplashDown Waterpark
SplashDown, another Virginia water park, is a smaller property that is located in Manassas (near Washington, D.C.). Among its featured attractions are two four-story water slides. Read more about

A huge --and I mean huge-- destination theme park resort is being planned for Russia.
