From Arthur Levine, your Guide to Theme Parks
It's not every day you see a 747 parked on the roof of a water park. OK, so you never see a full-sized commercial jet perched on the top of a water park--until the Evergreen Wings and Waves Waterpark opens this June, that is.

Also this week, let's take a look at a batty new name for a recycled coaster, check in with Shamu, walk this way to Florida, and get an update on the Readers' Choice Awards.

Water Park's Unique Feature is Plane to See
Yup, there's an actual plane sitting on the roof of a new water park now under construction. The utterly unique Evergreen Wings and Waves indoor water park is part of the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum in McMinnville, Oregon. And get this: Riders will board the park's water slides by climbing up and into the 747. Read more about Evergreen Wings and Waves Waterpark.

Readers' Choice Awards
The nomination period is over and my team of accountants are secreted in a hermetically sealed room tabulating the results. This Friday, I'll be posting the five finalists in each of the following categories. Then it will be up to you, dear readers, to cast your votes to determine the winners:
  • Best New Theme Park Attraction of 2010
  • Best New Theme Park Show of 2010
  • Best New Roller Coaster of 2010
  • Best New Water Park Ride of 2010
