From Rhonda Parkinson, your Guide to Chinese Food
Recipes include a couple of comfort dishes for the weekend - Red Cooked Beef and Roast Chicken. Also, Coconut Sponge Cake, Chinese Potato Salad, Bang Bang Chicken, and Five Spice Chicken.

Comfort Food - Red Cooked Beef
The perfect dish for a cold winter's day - beef and vegetables are gently simmered in a combination of spice and seasonings.

Garlic Chives Recipes
Used in Chinese cooking for at least 3,000 years, Chinese garlic chives are popular during the Chinese New Year season as they symbolize eternity. Here are a number of recipes using Chinese garlic chives, including spring rolls and potstickers.

Weekend Cooking: Roast Chicken
A whole chicken is marinated in a flavorful combination of Chinese seasonings (all available at local supermarkets, if you substitute sugar for the rock sugar) and then roasted. This recipe has been reader-rated at 5 out of 5 stars.

Coconut Sponge Cake
Similar to Hawaiian Haupia, this cake is steamed and then topped with an icing made with coconut milk, pineapple juice and sugar.
