If so, you probably noticed a sheet packed in the box, or a section of the user manual, that discusses how you can upgrade your player via a "firmware or software update process". To find out more about Firmware Updating, as it relates to your Blu-ray disc player and possibly your other home theater components, check out my article: Firmware Updates and Home Theater. Boxee's approach to a network media player/media streamer is as unique as its oddly-shaped design. For more details, read a review of the Boxee Box by D-Link, as reported by About.com contributing writer, Barb Gonzalez. This is a problem when using HDMI in home theater and whole house audio/video installations where connection distances of up to 100 feet or more may be required. To solve this, a converter can be used that allows signals that normally travel via HDMI to travel over the Cat5E or Cat6 cables used in computer networks. Home Sharing makes it easy to connect to the other iTunes libraries in your home network so you can stream and share--actually copy--music, movies, TV shows, apps, and ringtones. To play iTunes music and movies on a second generation Apple TV, Home Sharing must be activated. For all the details on how to activate Home Sharing in all your home computer's iTunes libraries, and how to connect your Apple TV into the mix, check out an illustrated step-by-step on How to Set Up Home Share in iTunes and Apple TV by About.com contributing writer, Barb Gonzalez. | | | | Home Theater Ads | | | | Featured Articles | | | | More from About.com | | | | | | Discover the Disney Dream Disney's newest cruise ship has something for every family member, from the Aqua Duck watercoaster to adults-only lounges.
