From Teresa Plowright, your Guide to Family Vacations
The Holiday Season is soon to start... Which means busy, busy times for air travel.

Air Travel Tips for the Holiday Season
Thanksgiving weekend is an incredibly high-volume period for air travel in the US, as families cross the country to get together for a turkey feast. Flights are packed, and if anything goes wrong and you need to rebook, it ain't gonna be simple... Read tips to help make travel during this peak weekend as smooth as possible.

Rules for Carry-On Luggage
Most travelers are aware of restrictions for taking liquids on airplanes: they're thinking about bottled water, and shampoo and other toiletries. But "liquid" includes food items too: jams, honey, salsa... And there are other rules, and exceptions, for baby food and formula, and prescription medicines...

Tips for Checked Luggage, Too
Carry-on bags aren't the only type of luggage with issues. You may have questions about checked bags too: how to lock your luggage, or protect fragile items; and that important question, which airlines still let you check a bag for free.

Thanksgiving Weekend Packages
Check out three new ideas for Thanksgiving weekend. Have a Big, Easy Thanksgiving in New Orleans (--which has fun attractions for families--) and enjoy special rates at hotels, and Thanksgiving meal promotions. Or head to an all inclusive resort in Jamaica, for as little as $78/ night. Or try a budget-friendly "lodge" cabin, at a KOA campground - some even have flatscreen tv's to watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade. A dozen more ideas, too.
