From Donna Pilato, your Guide to Entertaining
It's a busy week for all of us. Cooking, cleaning (with kids home from school), along with all the little details we need to keep track of to make this a happy celebration. I guess we could always look at the bright side - this is the calm before the month leading up to Christmas. Have an Entertaining week!

Hostess Gift Ideas
I rarely host the big Thanksgiving meal. Ever since I can remember, my parents' home has been the scene of the big, potluck family Thanksgiving feast. We all contribute to the meal in one way or another, but they are our constant, gracious hosts. I always like to bring them a little thank you gift, a hostess gift, to show them I appreciate the extra effort. Here are some of my favorite hostess gift ideas.

Bring on the Thanksgiving Nightmares
I shopped at lunch today for the ingredients for my Thanksgiving dishes. Clearly, the holiday is in full swing as I spent most of the hour saying "excuse me" as I squeezed through the various aisles at Whole Foods. But food shopping is the least of the nightmares that strike Thanksgiving hosts this week. There are so many things that could go wrong if we're not careful. I share some of the possibilities in my Ten Steps to a Less than Perfect Thanksgiving.

What Was Your Worst Entertaining Disaster?
I invite you to share real horror stories from Thanksgiving or any other time you entertained in What Was Your Worst Entertaining Disaster. I'll keep my fingers crossed that none of these nightmares happen to you this week.

New Babies Still Deserve a Baby Shower
Once Thanksgiving arrives, it's very easy to focus all of our party attention on the big winter holidays. But the rest of life also goes on, including pregnant women needing a little love and attention at a baby shower. I should know with my first daughter arriving two days after Christmas.
