Best of Europe

From James Martin, your Guide to Europe Travel
This week we're exploring Puglia's Gargano Peninsula, which sticks out of Italy's boot like a spur. It's a place whose beach cities look a bit forlorn right now without people, but for hiking and jeep trips in the Foresta Umbra, the forest the peninsula is known for, the weather is perfect. Off season travel is not just cheap, it's the best time to travel.

Explore Brussels
We've expanded our Brussels coverage with articles on getting to and from the airport and getting around Brussels on public transportation. It's time for spring flowers there: the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken are open only from April 2011 to Sunday 8 May 2011 this year.

Lake Constance
One of my favorite places in Germany, the towns around Lake Constance offer a variety of activities and enticements, from formal gardens to vegetable gardens; from Medieval cities to lakeside spa resorts.

Hallstatt, Austria Guide
A bone house, a long prehistory, and an interesting trip to the salt mines--just a few things you can do lakeside in Hallstatt.
