Vegetarian Holidays

From Jolinda Hackett, your Guide to Vegetarian Food
Myths, nonsense, cockamamie hare-brained assertions and just plain outlandish lies. Chances are, if you've been vegetarian or (gasp!) vegan for a while, you've heard some people say some pretty wacky stuff in response to the fact that you don't put dead animals inside your mouth. Read on to see what crazy things other people have heard, or share your own!

What've you heard?
"You don't drink milk? You're going to die!" is one of my favorites. Still alive and well after 10 years of not drinking milk! What are some of the crazy, stupid or silly things people have told you about being vegetarian or vegan? Share your story, then chat about it in the forums.

Potential for a cannibalistic future?
I was the first person to post an answer my own question. Read on to find out what someone once told me about why they didn't want to go vegetarian. It has to do with the potentiality of a cannibalistic future (but there's no zombies and no Armageddon in the story!). Click the link and scroll down to the very last response.

Forum Roundup
Here it is, your totally not regularly scheduled forum roundup! TofuKris wonders what Tofurky soda actually tastes like, and more specifically if it's any good. The thread about non-veg people eating all the veg food at a buffet is still running, even though the event in question has long passed (with a little help from advice offered in the forum, I might add!). And finally, I posted a link to a story about how the United Arab Emirates is calling for vegetarian food labeling laws. I found the story to be really interesting, but, judging from the number of replies I received, nobody else did!

Look at the calendar, and you might think it's a little late in the year for this newsletter. If so, I congratulate you: You are obviously not one of the 20 people who've messaged me lately (via IM, email, or passenger pigeon) to say that they are freezing.

Eat Something Warm: Recipes to Warm You Up
Why are we so cold, when the mercury is on the way up? I think it's because we (or our landlords) have mostly shut off the heat. After all, it's almost March! Nearly spring! We should be warm by now.
