| | This week we continue a look back at the cruise ships I sailed on in 2010. It's another group of diverse ships and destinations, from the tiny Mist Cove to the mega-ship the Celebrity Eclipse. | | Mist Cove of The Boat Company - Southeast Alaska In late July, my husband Ronnie and I traveled to Alaska to celebrate his 60th birthday on the 24-passenger Mist Cove, a ship that featured the one thing he loves more than anything--fishing. We had a marvelous week on the Mist Cove with fishing, hiking, and kayaking every day. This small jewel of a ship delivered fantastic scenery, wildlife sightings, and a yacht-like cruise experience. | Avalon Tranquility - Paris to Prague River Cruise Tour In late August, my mom and I flew to Paris for an Avalon Waterways' cruise tour that included three days in Paris, a ride on the TGV to Trier, a seven-day cruise on the Avalon Tranquility river vessel to Nuremberg, and three days in Prague. What's not to love about a visit to two of Europe's great cities with a terrific cruise on the Moselle, Rhine, and Main Rivers in-between? | Disney Magic - Mediterranean Cruise I eagerly anticipated the family shore excursions Disney Cruises would have on its summertime Mediterranean itineraries. As I expected, the Disney Magic delivered a fun and educational cruise experience for the entire family. | Celebrity Eclipse - New Cruise Ship Launched in 2010 The eruption of the Icelandic volcano in April prevented a flight to Southampton for the naming of the new Celebrity Eclipse. Luckily, I was able to sail on her for two days when she arrived in Miami in November to begin her first winter Caribbean sailing season. Like her sister ships the Celebrity Solstice and Celebrity Equinox, the Eclipse promises to be a great addition to the Celebrity fleet.
