Chinese New Year

From Rhonda Parkinson, your Guide to Chinese Food

Weekend Cooking - Main Dishes To Celebrate Chinese New Year
We're into Day 10 of the Spring Festival. Here are a number of popular main dishes to help you celebrate, from General Tso's Chicken to Peking Duck.
Lantern Festival - the last day of the Chinese New Year season.

Pork and Shrimp Wonton
I've included instructions for boiling and deep-frying the wontons, depending on how you want to use them. A reader writes: "As a chef, you can look at a recipe and see how it will taste and work for you. This is a very good recipe, and must come from the hands of a very good cook (or chef.)" Thanks!

Curry Shrimp
Curry paste adds flavor to shrimp, carrot, peas, and red bell pepper in this easy Curry Shrimp stir-fry.

Vegetarian Mock Oyster
Oysters are supposed to be foods of love, but what if you're a vegetarian? Mashed bean curd and seasonings takes the place of oysters in this deep-fried dish. Jimmy gives this recipe 5 out of 5 stars and writes: "I made this for my girlfriend two nights ago and holy cow! It turned out great and is actually a really good date dish if you're making dinner."
