Pearls... One of the June Birthstones
Pearls and Alexandrite are both June birthstones, but genuine Alexandrite is rare, and usually expensive. So most Junies wear pearls to represent their birth dates. There's no shortage of pearls. You'll find them in so many colors and shapes that you might have a hard time choosing just one piece of jewelry.

All About Turquoise
I think we often visualize the color blue when we hear the word turquoise, but it's a gemstone that exists in other colors, including my favorite, bright green Orvil Jack turquoise from the Blue Ridge Mine in Nevada. Even blue turquoise is varied though, because you'll see everything from pale shades of the gem to a bright robin's egg color, all with different amounts of the metallic veining called matrix.

July Babies Like Ruby
Rubies are red members of the corundum family of minerals. Corundum of any other color -- blue, pink, yellow, and many others -- is called sapphire. If you were born in July, ruby is your special birthstone.

Get the Facts About Aquamarine
Aquamarine exists in many shades of blue, from pale versions to the color of the sky, and some stones are tinged with green, courtesy of the iron that's part of their makeup.
