From Donna Pilato, your Guide to Entertaining
This end-of-the-school-year time period is always so busy. I'm organizing and helping at two school parties for one daughter and celebrating my other daughter's graduation from Middle School. By this weekend I'll be ready for a little relaxed summer party fun. Have an Entertaining week!

Plan a Picnic for the Weekend
This weekend promises to be beautiful and there's no place else I'll want to be but outside. No matter what your plans are for this weekend, I encourage you to do the same. Whether you take a party to the park or maybe spend Father's Day at the beach, you'll need a picnic basket to bring along your food and drinks. There are so many different choices for picnic baskets, there's no question you can find one among my Picks for Picnic Baskets that can suit your personal style.

Beat the Summer Heat with a Pool Party
It's a little too early for a heat wave, but obviously the weather forecaster doesn't care what I think. All I could think about during my travels today was which of my friends has a pool, and who could be persuaded to Host a Pool Party and invite me to it. I promise to bring enough sunscreen to go around. I may even bring some ice pops to share with everyone. Any takers?

Do I Have to Send a Thank You Note?
A lot of people must be receiving gifts lately because I'm seeing a greater than average number of questions about thank you notes. Most of the general drift has been whether a thank you note is necessary. Trust me, you can't go wrong by sending a thank you note. But if your time is limited, and you really suspect one may be unnecessary, you can check this basic etiquette guide to the Do's and Don'ts of thank you notes. After all, I don't want to be blamed for someone's writer's cramp without real justification.

Top Tips for Summertime Entertaining
Summer is supposed to be the time when we all take the spirit of the season to relax, unwind, and break from our usual routines. But when you're entertaining, there's still usually a bit of pressure to make sure your guests are happy and enjoy themselves. Well, if you let the season work for you, here are the best ways to enjoy your summer entertaining as much as your happy guests will.
