From Donna Pilato, your Guide to Entertaining
I can't believe the holiday season has arrived. I've barely done any shopping, but I've spent lots of time thinking about Christmas cookies. We all need to choose our priorities. Have an Entertaining week!

Survive the Stress of Holiday Entertaining
The holidays are supposed to be "the most wonderful time of the year." And they are very special as we get together with our friends and loved ones. But since the expectations for holiday gatherings are greater than the rest of the year, there's usually more work to do. To make matters more challenging, there are so many other things that need to be done this month. If you're the host this holiday season, here are my tricks for relieving the holiday stress.

T'is the Season for a Cookie Exchange
One of my favorite holiday season activities has got to be the annual holiday cookie exchange my friends and I always enjoy. I'll be busy baking gingerbread cookies tomorrow for our exchange later this week, but after looking through all of the Holiday Cookie Exchange Recipes from my fellow About.com Guides on our Food Channel, I'm having second thoughts. There are just so many yummy cookies, I wish there were more hours in the day for baking Christmas cookies. But, that's the beauty of a Holiday Cookie Exchange - you bake one variety, and go home with many. I can't wait.

Have Your Company's Holiday Plans Changed?
I just read an article reporting that company holiday party plans are at record low levels this year because of the economy. For some people that's a welcome piece of news because these events can bring out the worst in staff. For other people it means there's one less event to brighten the holiday season. So I was curious what was planned at the companies of this site's readers and how you feel about it. Let us know by voting in our poll.

Take a Break from the Holiday Madness
I'm still too busy digesting my Thanksgiving dinner to head out to the malls to begin my holiday shopping. Yes, I'm missing all of the Black Friday sales today, but I hope a few of them will still be around through the rest of the weekend. As much as I like to shop, I can only take so much before I need a break from the holiday madness. Then I head back home to a simple comfort food supper to fortify myself for the next day's shopping adventures.
