Home Theater Products Of The Year - 2011
2011 is quickly drawing to a close and it is time to for me to reveal my favorite products of the year. While many sites and publications choose only the highest-end products for their annual list, I take the approach of picking items from a broad range of product classes (high-end, mid-range, and entry-level) and prices that I feel provide a good value for the consumer. Check out my favorite home theater-related product picks for 2011.

DLP TVs - Holiday Gift Idea
LCD and Plasma TVs are now the kings of the hill when it comes to TV shopping, but Rear projection TVs actually provide a bigger screen viewing experience at a lower cost than either LCD or Plasma. Although most manufacturers are no longer making rear projection TVs, Mitsubishi has stayed the course with an impressive line of large screen projection TVs based on DLP technology. All of these sets can display 2D and 3D images, and some also feature internet streaming capabilities. So, if you are finding that those large screen LCD and Plasma TVs are not quite large enough, then check out some really big DLP TVs.

Cowboys and Aliens - Blu-ray Disc Review
Cowboys and Aliens is not a landmark achievement in film-making, but it is entertaining. Part Western and part Sci-Fi, this film does an adequate job of combining both, but doesn't have the "wow" factor one might expect, considering who was behind the development of the film. On the other hand, the audio and video quality are both top notch, and there is plenty of bonus feature material to provide hours of enjoyment. To find out if this is a Blu-ray Disc you should add to your collection, read my Review. Photos (c) Robert Silva - Licensed to About.com
