My mom's holiday philosophy: Food and family are two things you can never get enough of. I'm not always sure about the second, but I agree with the first wholeheartedly.

Small Dishes for Nibbling between Meals
Opening presents can be hard work. Plus, there's only so long you can be expected to wait between multi-course meals. Keep your strength up with these tasty appetizers.

Christmas Isn't Just for Turkeys
And by that, I mean that there are other delicious roasts to consider for your holiday table -- like goose, beef, or even tofu.

Spotlight on Sides
With a roast as the focus of attention on many tables, the pressure is usually off when it comes to the side dishes. But take this opportunity to make your supporting characters sing, and not only will your vegetarian friends be grateful, so will everyone else lucky enough to be invited to dinner.

Dessert: Saving the Best for Last
You're not going to want to miss these treats, so if you didn't save room for dessert, you might want to run around with the kids outside -- or better yet, get a relative to do that while you stretch out on the couch for a few hours.
