From Susan Breslow Sardone, your Guide to Romantic Travel
As love weren't intoxicating enough, wine regions throughout the world invite you to come sample the fruit of their vines. Plan a wine-tasting getaway before the frost is on the pumpkin.

Virginia Wine Country
A place of grape expectations, Virginia's boutique wineries, many family-owned, begin outside of Washington, DC, nestle in the Blue Ridge Mountains, wind past Colonial Williamsburg, and surround the rolling hills of Richmond. In fact, there are few spots in Virginia further than half an hour from a winery or romantic wine country inn.

California Wine Country
If you're closer to the West Coast, set your sites on Napa Valley and Sonoma County a short drive north of San Francisco. Find out where to stay among California Wine Country Inns.

Drinking in Portland, Oregon
Whatever can be produced in liquid form -- from coffee to beer to brandy and wine -- is made in and around "Rose City" with finesse and flair.

Niagara on the Lake Wine Country
This charming part of eastern Canada, not far from the US border at Buffalo, NY, is the most widely respected producer of ice wine. Made from the last grapes of the season remaining on the vines, ice wine is a sweet dessert wine with a rich, golden color.
