Valleyfair Hits Coaster Peaks Located near Minnesota's Twin Cities, Valleyfair features a good collection of wooden coasters including Renegade, the classic High Roller, and the hybrid wood and steel Excalibur. Valleyfair's well-regarded Wild Thing hypercoaster soars over 200 feet and reaches a top speed of 74 mph. It's not all about the coasters, however. Arkansas Theme Park Springs to Life Each spring, seasonal parks reopen their gates to the delight of coaster and ride fans. Like nearly every other US park, Arkansas' major park, Magic Springs, is now open daily. Among its highlights are X-Coaster, a unique thrill ride that shuttles riders forwards and backwards on a relatively short looping circuit and includes a harrowing inversion at 150 feet. If you wanted to ride coasters and carousels, you went to the theme park; if you craved water slide fun and relief from the heat, you headed to the water park.
