Valleyfair's well-regarded Wild Thing hypercoaster soars over 200 feet and reaches a top speed of 74 mph. It's not all about the coasters, however. Like nearly every other US park, Arkansas' major park, Magic Springs, is now open daily. Among its highlights are X-Coaster, a unique thrill ride that shuttles riders forwards and backwards on a relatively short looping circuit and includes a harrowing inversion at 150 feet. General admission to Magic Springs also includes access to its water park as well a concert series with national acts. If you wanted to ride coasters and carousels, you went to the theme park; if you craved water slide fun and relief from the heat, you headed to the water park. The idea of combining the two concepts seemed crazy. (But not that crazy. After all, water frolickers have been riding coasters at traditional seaside and lakeside amusement parks for years.)
