Place the assembly in a "brick", cut a slot to match the space that separates the two facing speakers, and you have a Slot Speaker. Now, take one or more Slot Speakers and line them up, each powered by its own compact analog amplifier, and software controlled so that the sound coming from the slots can be beamed in any direction.
