Fun Places To Go

From Teresa Plowright, your Guide to Family Vacations
Looking for a new area to explore in Mexico? Actually, quite a few visitors may have already been to the "Riviera Nayarit" without knowing it: this area north of Puerto Vallarta was given the name "Riviera Nayarit" just a few years ago.

Things to Do in the Riviera Nayarit
The "Riviera Nayarit" is an area in Mexico north of Puerto Vallarta that includes 68 km of coast on Banderas Bay. Many resorts line this beautiful beach, including all inclusive resorts that welcome families. Meanwhile at the top of the bay, luxury awaits at the Four Seasons Punta Mita and St. Regis Punta Mita resorts. Check out some fun things to do in the Riviera Nayarit: go whale-watching, see baby sea turtles, go ziplining on a canopy tour, take a road trip north to San Blas, visit a beach town....

Romantic Getaways (With Kids Along)
It may be a challenge to find some couple-time on a family vacation, but there are some ways to at least improve the odds. For example, families can head to resort that offers a kids' club or a Kids' Night Out. Check out suggestions for Romantic Getaways with Kids Along, for Valentine's Day.

Disney World's Fantasyland to Expand
About.com's Theme Parks Guide has the scoop about changes coming to Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom theme park at Disney World. The expanded land will have two phases, scheduled to open in 2012 and 2013. These dates seem a long way off but will give Disney World fans a good length of time to express opinions. Is it really a good idea to retire Mickey's Toontown Fair? To lose Snow White's Scary Adventures?

Family Skiing: Where to Go?
If you're thinking about a ski or snowboarding vacation for Spring Break, it's high time to book. Check out some factors to keep in mind when you're considering where to go to get on the slopes. (And remember, these days ski resorts have lots of fun for those family members who don't want to snap on skis or set foot on boards. Try snow-shoeing, snow tubing, mountain coasters...)
