From Arthur Levine, your Guide to Theme Parks
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas--at least here at About.com's Theme Parks site. Let's continue our look at some of the ways parks celebrate the happiest time of the year.

Also this week, an organization made an interesting, if controversial, point by calling out Cedar Point for its Halloween event. The issue makes for a fascinating poll, so please vote and voice your opinion.

Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell Parks
Parks generally used to call it a season soon after Labor Day. But, over the last few years, most have remained open for Halloween events. More recently, however, seasonal parks--even ones in places where the mercury can dip well below freezing and snow is likely--have been extending their seasons straight through to January with festive holiday celebrations. Want to know where to find bazillions of twinkling lights, visits from St. Nick, elaborate holiday-themed stage shows, and, yes, coasters and other rides amid winter's chill? Put on your thermal-lined Santa cap and peruse my 2010 Guide to 2010 Christmas Events at Theme Parks

Halloween Haunts: All in Fun or Insensitive? Take the Poll.
The Ohio chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness asked Cedar Point to change or close down two of its HalloWeekends attractions, saying that they "reinforce stigmas about mental health patients." What do you think? Read about the issue, then take the poll. After you cast your vote, please join the conversation by clicking on the "Comments" link at the bottom of the blog.
